– US/China trade talks “going very well” says Trump, a mini deal may come and the FT looks what it will be like; tariff relief, China to boost US agricultural purchases, currency provisions

– Brexit UK headlines, FT, The Times, The Telegraph, as Johnson/Varadkar talk of a “pathway”, The Telegraph story is Boris needs to deliver Brexit on October 31st. Barclay and Barnier meet today
– Fed’s Mester (slightly hawkish and less important) says “the economy continues to perform well…we will avoid a more serious downturn”
– Fed Kashkari (very dovish and least important) says “if data continues to come in the way it has, I’m going to be supportive of another rate cut”

US equities closed higher on trade talk optimism and Brexit hopes. Asian equities rose as did S&P 500 futures
