The Day Today 29th November 2019

– Tokyo core inflation rose 0.6%
– BOJ Kuroda said the central bank’s ultra low interest rate policy is aimed at helping them hit their 2% inflation target not funding government spending what is needed is “deregulation and structural reforms” and there is “ample room” to ease further
– UK election: Channel 4 leader’s debate on climate change took part without Boris Johnson, although the use of an ice block in his place prompted Conservative party calls of impartiality; Labour will launch regional manifestos today; spending plans compared and fact checked
– Japan and South Korea to hold trade talks in December
– BOKorea leaves rates unchanged as the governor says “the economy appears to be passing through the bottom”, although one board member voted for a cut
– North Korea had missile tests as Kim’s year end deadline for talks with the US draws near

Asian equity markets fell but things are really on hold as the markets await trade news, hopefully before December 15th
