  • Pfizer plans to ask US regulators to authorize booster dose of its Covid 19 vaccine, due to evidence of greater risk of reinfection six months after inoculation.
  • China Inflation 1.1% y/y vs f/c 1.3%, factory gate prices pretty much as expected.
  • London and Brussels disagree over the size of the divorce bill.
  • Fed Daly said “one of the biggest risks to our global growth going forward is that we prematurely declare victory on Covid…we are not through the pandemic, we are getting through the pandemic”.
  • Rishi Sunak is urging workers to return to the office as soon as the government lifts the “work from home” guidance, expected July 19th; English workplaces will likely be free to drop masks and social distancing.
  • US will add more Chinese companies to the blacklist.
  • Sydney may extend their lockdown.
  • US hotels surpass pre-covid levels.

The S&P 500 closed 0.9% lower and the Nasdaq was down 0.7%. Asian equity markets followed US equities lower, with Asian shares making two month lows as governments across the Asia-Pacific region rush to impose tougher lockdowns due to the Delta variant spreading.
